André Shotwell

Front End Developer

I create clean and modern web content, write about what piques my interest, consume a myriad of YouTube videos daily, and infrequently broadcast myself coding ⌨️, or mostly gaming on Twitch 👾.

Works

(hover to view demo)

  • Green Right Window Cleaning

A freelance project for a window cleaning company. Website is coded in REACT and contains multiple contact forms, and multipage navigation.

  • Backronym Generator

Built in React, using Github as collaboration and version control tool with 3 other team members. Create your own custom 4 letter acronym, and random words will get pulled from the Datamuse API. You can also save the acronyms you like through Google Firebase.

  • Animeseeker

This page uses the Jikan API (now updated to v4 of the API) and is coded in REACT with axios calls. The user is able to look up any anime title of their choosing, and the call will pull the results, and display the poster, title, and synopsis.

  • Willow

A multi-page PDF conversion made using provided design files, featuring a Home, Blog, and Contact page. This is a fully responsive website in HTML5, and styled with SASS.

About

Hi, I'm Andre ⎯ a simple front-end developer based in Toronto, Canada.

Specializing in frontend web development, I enjoy building responsive web applications with clean and accessible code. I am a Juno College web development bootcamp graduate (wow that was wordy), and have a background in Business Administration, and Sales. I am always seeking for self-improvement through learning new languages, and frameworks.

Previously, I was working in the retail service industry. From fashion stores, to your favourite bank interaction (this is a joke btw). I am a skilled people-person, problem solver, and creative storyteller who relishes in taking on new challenges.
